Who are we and why are we here?
Making financial decisions can be tough for all of us.
Money isn’t talked about that much at home, so it is important to try and improve what is out there for you.
By doing this we can help you make better decisions and understand more things.
We want to provide you with access to easy to understand advice and guidance to help you make better money decisions.
1 - What is the Young Finance Centre?
It’s a pilot commissioned by the Money and Pensions Service and brought to you by Reed in Partnership and Polar Insight...
Our aim is to provide important money advice to young adults between the ages of 16 and 24.
We are a passionate team of three based here in Northern Ireland, meaning we have a first-hand understanding of the issues local young adults and organisations face when it comes to money advice.
Our support is available in the following areas:
- Belfast Metropolitan Area (Greater Belfast)
- Newry, Mourne and Down
- Derry/ Londonderry City
- Craigavon Area
We have three key aims:
To help young adults of a working age easily access money advice at two key checkpoints – accessing Universal Credit and starting employment
To increase awareness of existing organisations that deliver free-to-access money, employment and youth development services within Northern Ireland
To help organisations and professionals who support young people understand the full range of services and support available
